A first-time importer in Eastern Europe wants our furniture components delivered to their door, but has no customs broker and little experience with imports. Quoting under delivered terms would make the sale easier, yet we would carry risks we cannot fully control at destination.
We are considering offering two options: a price on FCA terms with a recommended freight forwarder, and a higher price on DAP terms that includes a buffer for unexpected costs. Import duties would stay with the buyer either way. How do you guide inexperienced buyers through Incoterms without losing the deal or taking on hidden liabilities?
